Nintendo has listened to the idea that "there's no need to have a good HOME menu on a console as you only need to play games", and responded with its new addition to the 21.0.0 Nintendo Switch 2 update, called Automatic Mode.
Automatic Mode, like its predecessor on the Nintendo DSi, completely ignores the "useless" HOME menu and automatically loads the game on the inserted cartridge.
Fans are reacting positively so far:
"I can't believe they finally added this! There was no point to the menu. Consoles are for one purpose only, and that is to play games.", one GBATemp user said.
"Finally I can focus on my games and not have to worry about things like viewing the screenshots/recordings I took or using the eShop", says an user of Reddit.
It's still possible to switch back to Manual Mode and access the HOME menu, however Nintendo is looking into removing that option in a future update due to the absolute and total uselessness of the menu.
