Already got my pre-order down in my local GAME store, will cost me £220 but the store's 2 minutes from my house and I know the staff will get me everything I asked for. Will be putting the money I need for the system on a gift card when I get paid in a few days to avoid accidentally spending it all like last month

That way the system is paid for and all I need to find is the money for the games, which is where my March paycheck comes in, failing that the big pile of 360 games I've been finishing in my time off lately.

I'd rather pay more money and get it from a reputable shop like game or amazon. I'm never ordering from toys r us again since they didn't let me return a 2 week old ps2, what kind of customer service is that. Game and Amazon you got a year.

Actually by law you have a year's warantee on any electronic device under the terms of the Sale of Goods Act. They try to bullshit you by talking about 'company policy' but those policies are not above the law. Just name drop the Sale of Goods Act or Trading Standards and you'll find most people back down and give you a refund/exchange. If not, if the item is not fit for the purpose it was bought for, then get Trading Standards in there, they're free and they always win.

That seems to be the case at my local gamestation, two of the workers had 2 pre-orders, and their manager had 7.
And that includes my pre-order.

The retailers need to wise up and drop the price, give out offers, etc.
"Half price if you trade in a DSiXL + Mario game" doesn't cut it.

Lol, it feels like they were saying that the 3DS was selling out like crazy (more than the Wii), only so they could get more pre-orders, and then when they saw that they failed, they had no other choice but to lower the price.
Well, maybe not, but it does sound like that might be the reason for all this price dropping.
Maybe it was a good idea to let retailers set the price rather than Nintendo.

£197 is an okay price I guess... better than £230. I think by Christmas it might be around £180... at which point I intend to buy it... unless E3 doesn't impress me even more with a super NGP games range.

I'm sure amazon has reported even shopto and one other that 3ds preorders are high. Now think from a business point of view if a another store is selling a product at a lower cost it makes sense for others to drop if they want to stay in the competition and that's what happening. To begin with it was priced high anyway.
