I have water damage on my real MM 3DS, this would be perfect for making it look pretty again. So awesome.
So, the only part that's damaged is the top part (with the actual mask design on it) everything else is still good. Is that the hardest part to replace?

No. Replacing the golden parts is rather easy, its just removing 2 (bottom shell) or 4 (upper shell) screws. It's slight tricky with the sliding mechanism but not hard at all. Check out some YouTube videos beforehand.

Ich danke Ihnen. I just don't want to ruin what I have trying to replace it. I was so bummed out, it's just some missing paint, but enough where it isn't fun to look at. I shall order a replacement asap. I guess the worst thing that could happen is having to try it again? Thanks again

Watch some videos to see how the mechanism works and don't use excessive force and you'll be good. There are no wires to disconnect, no boards to remove just:

1. Remove 4 screws
2. Slide old shell out of place and lift off
3. Put new shell into place and slide in
4. Insert 4 screws

You might want to order 4 of those rubber covers where the screws are high finger under as they will most likely tear when removing them, the force is strong with those

I bought this Shell and these screw covers too (and I had to get replacement screws for the backplate)

I bought a grey N3ds XL and I basically swapped it to the Majora's Mask shell, I had a lot of trouble with it though.

Basically once I took the 3ds screw covers off (I just screwed through the rubber as I couldn't take them out, ended up with a big scratch trying to do so) the back of the topscreen was pretty easy to get off using some guitar picks but trying to oget the replacement one on just wasn't having it, there are 4 pieces of plastic on this underside of the replacement case that were supposed to fit snug into these slots, but they bent out of shape trying to pry it on while it was going on at one side it was popping off at the other, so I dremelled them off and got it on that way.

But it looks nice! apart from this where I used the wrong screw and screwed it too far it nearly came out the top shell
