Just got a new set of four from Nintendo today.

Have to say it feels "safer" than the older ones. the strap itself is thicker than the Ver.2. The lock is kind of cool, but gets annoying when taking it off. Well if you want the new ones and previously asked Nintendo to replace it with the ver.2, just email them and ask for the new ver.3 ones. Not sure if Nintendo does this outside of the US but it doesn't hurt to ask right?

LOL, I requested 4 of the v2 straps for my 1 wiimote back when they did the offer. I have 2 wiimotes now, but I still haven't switched the straps yet. I should request 4 of the new v3.

I always thought the straps were silly. I guess for some people they're needed, but I took the straps off of all my remotes. All they did was annoy me when I was playing games like Super Paper Mario and Excite Truck where you hold the remote sideways. I have never dropped a remote yet, and that's after beating Zelda 100% and now after around 10 hours of MP:3, not to mention all the other games I've played. I don't even worry about it when other people come over and play. If they're retarded enough to need the strap I probably won't let them play the Wii anyway.

Agreed!

Actually this is the 4th design of these straps now.
1: Came with early versions of systems/wii motes. Very thin string, very easy to break.
2: Same design as the number 1 but a new thicker string. More durable.
3: New design entirly. Looks like a "pill capsule". Doesn't have a Nintendo or a Wii stamp on the plastic. Very cheap looking.
4: This design, which is "snap on" kind.

I'm gunna phone Nintendo in the morning to see if I can get some version 4 ones.

Anyone know in what regions V3 straps are available? I send an E-mail to Nintendo in Holland to ask for the new straps but haven't heard from them yet.

Is the V3 version even officially released?
