New Wii Update

So what kind of update is this?
Do you actually download a new firmware, or just a small update for the channels themselves?

both

1)the FW update it for the shop channel
2)you d/l the photo channel from the shop

I concur...I killed so many...I mean worked very hard to get the monies to buy Wii Points. I won't be giving them away either.

The AAC Update is only for the photo channel.
Excite Truck still reads the MP3 files. I haven't tried AAC files for Excite truck yet...but will test it this evening. (I doubt it works though)
Don't know whether anything changes for movie playback, as Nintendo never gives out any information about the mjpeg feature....but gonna try one with AAC audio too.

A classmate of mine is going to have his Wii replaced, since it has graphical anomalies (probably busted graphics chip). Can he send his VC games to me and I later send them back to his new machine? Thanks for the answers!

I don't think you can send games you already have. I think it's just, you're now able to buy games for another person.

I was glad to see you don't have to upgrade the photo channel. MP3 to AAC is a major step back in my opinion. I have far more MP3s.

yeh i upgraded the photo channel only reason cause, i like putting any picture i have on the main menu, (channel itself) so when you turn on wii, a cool pic is there, i don't use the mp3/aac of the photo channel, i have vista media center for slideshow stuff. installed and all is good for backups, wiinja deluxe 3.1U

Do you have to fucking rip on everything, jalaneme? A friend of mine bought me pokemon snap and I'm pretty happy about it. Just because you hate something and won't use it doesn't make it pointless. Some of us have friends in real life.

Update doesn't affect wiikey users at all. Also you can delete the photo channel and it will go back to the mp3 version. The new version has some extra features though like you can set the photo channel icon.

yeh same here, just sent the inet channel to a good friend of mine for x-mas gift, not much but made his day bigtime. great idea and i created some cool background pics for the channel lol. great lil update i think, go pokemon snap lol
