wiiscu or nusd either works ok...wiiscu is a bit convenient for all you have to do is run the app in your wii. unlike nusd you have to remove your sd, place it in your pc, download the updated channel on your pc and pack the wad, place the sd on your wii, use wad manager to install the wad...whooooh...

The 4.2 updater didn't appear in his blog unlike all his other updaters/apps. Apparently it patches ALL your IOS's. The safe updater/offline method is cleaning and you have more control over it. It gives you the option to install the stub IOS60

Don't bother with the Wani updater, it's on the list of 'apps that brick your Wii'!

Follow zektors offline guide, thats how I had to do it

Is there actually a list of 'apps that brick your Wii'? Or were you just saying that based on word of mouth or experience?

for the record i used wani's updater and it worked fine .. my HBC was upside down but that was an easy fix .. I am a bit suspect tho as other people have stated its not on wani's blog or anywhere else.. Next wii i do i'm using the safe updater tho.

actually there is a list of apps that brick due to stubbed IOS's i believe, do a search for "Apps That Brick" and it should be the first hit

I've seen people saying this, but it worked just fine for me, just like all of Waninkoko's stuff.
That's because if you already have a working IOS60 or have installed it prior to running the updater, it'll work properly. But if you don't the updater will grab the latest IOS60, which is a stub.
