1. You don't need a super computer.
2. Some people have bigger, better monitors than the TV their Wii is plugged into.
3. Some people don't even have a Wii.
4. As the computer is emulating, you can upgrade the resolution, so it will end up looking sharper than the image on your TV screen (obvs depending on your monitor).

So the emulator really works and runs the games at full speed?

Because here is saying the opposite:

Overview

Dolphin is a Gamecube emulator. It also has preliminary support for Wii and basic Triforce emulation (this is pending a commit, and does not run games yet).

Gamecube compatibility is about the same (or worse, due to various core changes and lack of subsequent compatibility work) as previous releases.

Wii compatibility is very low. Some games show their intro movies, that's it. There is preliminary Wiimote emulation but it does not work yet.

That isn't updated mate.

Lots of Gamecube games run at full speed, and now many Wii games run almost at full speed and some already at full speed : D

Basically the problem is that you need a REALLY good Computer..

This would be quite amazing. I have my PC hooked up to a 65" 1080P DLP tv and if I Can get Wii games through emulation to run and say 720p I would be very very happy.

Amazing...But if its running full speed Wii games, what about Gamecube games?
Well, I can't judge personally as I don't have a fast PC, but here's what Gamecube is supposed to be like:

And this is how well Mario Galaxy for Wii works:

Not bad... but good luck emulating the motion sensing on a keyboard

some of theese emulators look great!
but the files for dolphin are too big for my liking!

At least you know where to find the crap, and no I'm not asking. Well it's partly I'm lazy on the games due to the size of the download, but also I don't have a way currently to run a pointer and as of now the few times I tried I never could find a legit bios either which makes the entire effort worthless.

I'm finding more fun at this rate sitting back and watching, though I imagine if I added a bluetooth setup I could easily get some good play out of that thing on here as I have a nice quadcore intel setup with 3GB of ram and a good ati video card with 256MB ram on it.

Wow, i cant believe the Wii has been emulated well this quickly! Isnt the wii stronger than the PS2 though? How come the PS2 emulators arent doing as well as this?

Fix'd

Maybe the developers of Dolphin are more dedicated.

Anyways, the emulator looks great! I would use it, but my computer sucks..

The ps2 has multiple chips which require a very tight sync iirc. The ppc cpu the gamecube/wii uses is quite fast & powerful, but it's easy to use a dynarec (and other hle tricks) to get it going faaast.

I compiled my own from SVN after seeing this thread, so here's a RAR for SVN r1300, for both x86 and x86-64. I haven't tested the x86-64 build as I don't have a 64-bit OS, but it should work just fine and give a nice speed boost for those who can use it.
