Wait wait. So if I downgrade a Japanese 3DS, get a soft brick, and reinstall firmware in recovery mode, it will go back to 10.3 and I get another shot at it?
Nintendo JPN website doesn't report the 10.4 system update. yellows8 website does, so idk at this point

I can't use the default no-theme theme on my new 3ds. I had menuhax2 installed on my 3ds. Even though I deleted the files from my 3ds's memory card.

I updated to transfer my stuff from my 3ds to my new 3ds. the 3ds starts up fine. but my new 3ds now freezes on the default theme. Did the hack somehow system transfer to the new 3ds idk.

why would you need menuhax on emunand? (unless your nands are still linked). the homebrew launcher .cia was all I needed, since it ended up booting ctrbootmanager.

Wow, so I'm playing that free Pokemon game and went to do the online check, and get a "You need to perform a system update...." error.

I checked, yet another new firmware is out:

The latest system update is 10.5.0-30 U

Are you the only one with this issue? Are other N3DS owners able to use ninjhax with 10.4?

Oothax definitely still works on all systems, so there's that option still.

Oh, no; I'm using an O3DS! Sorry; probably should've made that clear... Could that have something to do with the problem I'm having?

this seems like you're not picking the right version or model. if you sure you're are, then maybe smea needs to rebuild the payload?

Pretty sure I'm choosing the right version and model, but I could be wrong. Maybe I'll have to do some experimentation then...

No, other people have it working.

Good to know. If I'm the only one with this problem, then that must mean I'M,doing something wrong! Now if I could only figure out what...

I just updated my N3DS to 10.5

Browserhax, ninjhax, and oothax all work for me

i installed menuhax with coldboot gw
than i unlinked my nands and started gw emunand (which emunand doesnt matter)
and deleted menuhax from emunand
now my themes are working again

YES, but if I delete it in emunand it's deleted from sysnand too. Sane with changing themes, which also deletes menuhax.

So should I also try updating to the latest version, then, when I get the chance? Might that fix the problem I'm having?
Probably won't make a difference, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. Being on 10.4 doesn't have any advantages over 10.5
