well, now i'm not so sure about the G thing.
i just checked the battery and the memory stick on another psp, and they're working fine.
but the new psp just doesn't boot.
maybe some of them are not flashable, after all.

So when you put the battery in your psp, it doesn't turn on at all?

well, it does turn on with the pandora battery, but nothing appears on the screen.
it seems not to be able to read from the stick.

but the stick and the battery are working fine with another psp, as i said before.
and the new psp works with its own battery, so..
even if there's G code on the box, i think maybe it's unflashable.

so, just to be safe, id recommend buying psps with F code and above.

@gofret
Which method did you use to create your magic memory stick? I thought Despertar Cementario only works on a PSP that already has CFW.

gofret, did u press "up" while booting up your psp with pandora ?

If u followed exophase tutorial, I would assume your MMS will be loaded with TM and DC. The default button in the setup with TM/DC is "up" when u first installed DC into your MMS.

If u have 2 DC installed, eg. the old one such as DC5, and then a new one such as DC7, u will need to change the config.txt at the root of your MMS to configure, for eg, "up" for DC7, "down" for DC5, depending on which CFW you want to install.

If that still doesnt help, then probably your mem stick may be a problem. You may wish to check if your mem stick is a fake using your psp --> magix gate supported (real), magix gate unknown (fake).

PSPident can tell the exact board version of your psp, google it. Crossextend could also does the same thing, which u can find in exophase.

of course. but it doesn't matter, because mms light doesn't even blink. i had DC6 installed on the mms first, and then i formatted and tried DC7.
i know the mms and the pandora battery were working, because i tried them on a different psp.

by the way, the memory stick is genuine, its the 1 gig mms that comes with the psp bundles.

i cant use psp ident to determine the TA number, because it does not run on the original firmware. but im pretty sure now that its one of the TA-088v3.

ah ... sori to hear that.

Only DA can help u ( and many others out there who are going to have a v3 or higher boards ), certainly not now, but hopefully it wont take too long .....

eh...... only if he can pandora boot his psp to the recovery-XMB mode to show up DC7 ...... which he can't.

I understand there is still no confirmed code to identify v3 board, yet. Anyway, the ofw in the v3 board will lock him out from any homebrew. Wait for the Great DA ...

DCv7 can show you what motherboard you have. It's a good way to check.

I had a TA-88v2 with a brand new GoW bundle. I think I had an outdated Pandora running DC5. I booted up into the Pandora but no menu showing up, green light on. So I waited a bit, then pressed X (my assigned key to install 3.90 M33-3). Waited a bit more and the memory stick light was flashing. I kinda figured it was installing the CFW even though I couldn't see anything. Waited until the light stopped flashing after a couple of minutes, then I can't remember if it rebooted by itself or if I did it manually... anyway, after the reboot the 3.90 M33-3 was installed.

You can try that with the TA-88v3s to see if it works. This was just my experience with it before I had a chance to update to DC6 & 7. I have no v3s to test it on... so you're on your own for now.

and @ Arsic

no, unfortunately that doesn't work. i had DC6 on my mms, (assigned key UP) but nothing works, there's no flashing lights, none of the buttons worked i tried, and no reaction. mms light didn't blink even once. power light just turns on, and stays on.

worst thing about this is, that we don't know when this will be solved or if it can be solved. the ta-088 v3 is more and more common and i think there is no definite way of determining it when buying. i mean, mine had the G code on the box, so i assumed i was safe, but maybe i was just unlucky, i don't know.

I bought my PSP Slim and Lite last week and I could CFW it with Pandora ^^

I wouldn't worry
