Hey, so I have a switch that I want to hack but I don’t know if I should.
1. Worried about being banned, even though I don’t use the online services
2.what CFW should I get (I like firmware that is very customizable and maybe pirate friendly(?))
3. What is the chance of a brick, or Efuse blow?
4. When do you think full N64 games will be in a playable state (yes I know people ask this a lot, but I know a lot of progress has been made)

Thank you for reading this :grog:

  1. If you make a clean hack-free NAND backup immediately before doing anything else, stay offline with all of your homebrew/CFW, then restore that NAND prior to going online, you may be able to avoid being banned
  2. The most customizable CFW by far is Atmosphere however ReiNX is a close second.
  3. The chances of being bricked depends. Some hacks intentionally brick the console to make loading CFW easier. The prime example of this is AutoRCM which literally bricks the boot sequence of the console so it goes into RCM AUTOmatically. Efuses are only blown when you the normal boot sequence of the Switch detects a higher firmware than your current fuse count. This can be bypassed with payloads that double as bootloaders such as Hekate and ReiNX
  4. Retroarch support is coming soon
