New to modding switch

Hello everybody

I modded my v1 switch a few days ago, I have downloaded some games but when I click on them it always says an error occurred.

I have 0 experience with modding as this is my first time, and I keep seeing the issue might be syspatches. But I am having trouble finding a tutorial and installing them properly.

Can someone link me one or explain the process like I am 5? I followed modding guide from NH Swtich Guide.

Also, my system was updated to 22.5 prior to the modding. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Sys-patch patches lots of unnecessary stuff, which can cause issues. So I recommend fs-patch.
But the guide below is the same for both.

I will also use Ultrahand in the guide, which gets updates unlike the old Tesla-Menu

Guide:

1. Download fs-patch.zip from fs-patch
2. Extract all contents of the zip onto your SD-Cards root folder (highest folder on the SD)
3. Download sdout.zip from Ultrahand
4. Extract all contents of the zip onto your SD-Cards root folder
5. Reboot your Switch
6. Press ZL + ZR + Arrow Down on your Controller
7. Click on fs-patch
8. Configure it how you want

Which unnecessary things and what issues? I have never heard either claim before.
