Hacking New to Gateway

Hello guys

I just bought a gateway and a 3DSxl in Bangkok... so I don't know if my gateway is original

I've made the installation of fw2.02b and it worked... so it means my gateway is original? Being original, is it safe to continue with fw2.02b?
Also, I have another 3ds with a lot content from eShop. Is it safe to update my new one with the latest emunand fw and transfer from my old 3ds? Do I need to do that using the fw2.02b? Is there a risk of losing something in the process?

In general 2.0b2 is not considered safe due to the existence of brick codes, but the thread I linked will help you get started.
