What is BACKUP\SAVER used for?

It's a feature that was created by @veikkos that would make a backup of your save files as you launched the games. I just brought it over to this new cartridge because I thought some people would like it or find it useful.

If you don't like it, you can turn it off.

Oh so that's what the "Backup" setting is under settings?

Hey there, is there a features list available? I would love to check but I'm kinda lost reading 30 pages of posts :rofl2: Would like to know if this custom fw has any clear advantages over the official one; thanks!!

The original post should be just fine but I can give you the list here:

PogoShell plugin support

A handful of plugins are included which means you can launch way more emulators and file types such as text documents, images, and music.

Save backup feature
When enabled, this will make up to five backups of the save file belonging to the ROM/file you are opening.

Better English translation
Just better in general

Cleaner sans-serif font

An option to hard reset the console when booting a GBA game without holding L.
I implemented this because I know some people like me like having the BIOS intro screen.

In short, it doesn't just look pretty, it gives your cartridge way more functionality as well!

Hey pal, thanks for your fast answer; I was afraid I was missing something through the entire thread!

Great job btw, I'll give it a try!! I'm having issues with my GB/GBC save games, (even if I wait 5 secs after saving, it won't work 1 out 99 times and that will corrupt all my gb/gbc save states :( ) hope this could make it a little better!

The save backup feature might be able to help get your saves back after your SYSTEM folder gets corrupted.

Of course it's only a bandage, not a fix for the underlying issue. The newer cartridge the Definitive Edition, fixes this issue but I don't think many people are too impressed with its price.

Indeed, I've just spend 45 U$D on this thing; not sure I'll dump another 100 soon :/

If you are talking about the original omega (i know nothing about the definitive edition) then just do not use it to play gb/gbc games... the implementation is simply horrendous... corrupted my sd card every time i tried to use it! The gba compatibility is fine... but for gb/gbc it is simply horrible!

Yup, the simple Ez Omega; works fine with GBA for the moment, but GB/GBC save thing is just sad, I've lost 2 weeks of progress in a couple of games; even using the "safe" method (save, wait 5 secs, turn off) i got everything corrupted. I assume is corrupted course the save files still there on the SAVER folder, i just cant use them.

Just do not even try to play gb/gbc games with the omega... it will just currupt your entire sd card in the end!

There is a little typo on the right most screen in the definitive edition version, select turned into sekect :D Love this theme!

I noticed that but I wanted to see how long it would take for someone to notice haha
