just dont update?

I'm worried because I like to have the resources available to hack a wii. I don't want to let someone down by saying, oh no you are on 4.3 i can't hack your wii. i like saying yeah just give me your wii and ill hack it. no problem.

it will be done at some point i think. there is too much known about the wii. its just a matter of finding the exploit.

Once the hackmii installer is updated it'll be business as usual again. The only difference now is you'll have to own a certain game or go out and buy a copy. Just like the good old days when everyone used the Twilight hack.

It's just a matter of time until someone figures it out...again.

I have fw4.1E.
There are only 4 minor flaws in your downgrade tutorial.
I myself tested the waninkoko updater, but that should even be better than the official update, so there's no difference there.

1. With the nintendo update, most cios are replaced with stubs, therefore you can't select them in DOP-Mii.
Only IOS202, 222v5, 224 or 250 aren't stubbed, so could work if previously installed.

2. The wad installation of system menu fw4.1 will not work.
First, I restored all fw4.1 IOS with wadmanager, only the system menu fw4.1 was blocked.
So it must be system menu fw4.3 that blocks it if you install from SD.
The only way i could instal it was with MultiMod Manager -> Manage System Menu -> and download it online.

3. Priiloader will not install with IOS36v3607, it needs IOS36v3551 patched.

4. in fw4.1, Priiloader has no "block online updates".

Your wrong

1- I understand the stubbed ios, and how they get stubbed. I guess that is why the first iso choice was ios250, then the others you listed.

2-The system menu can not block a wad install. Once you load wadmanager and a cios, SM plays no part. You must install with an ios that have the version check patched, this is cios38 or tbr 1.12+ ios236. But that does not matter since my guide does not use a wad install via wadmanger. It is installed with dop-mii.

3- Priloader will install with cios, hold B press +/A, as stated in the guide

4- 4.1 has block online and block disk.

1. no problem

2. I don't have IOS236 on my fw4.1E region, never heard of it before, not even in NUS, I did'nt try DOP-Mii so i couldn't say.
I was just stating my findings so it might help someone, thats all.
But i wonder what blocks it then, since all other IOS are back to the fw4.1 versions and at that point wadmanager uses IOS250(base38).
It works with all other wads, so why not the system menu fw4.1?
It should work, but online with MMM was no problem, so that's okay.

3. Nope, that doesn't do a damn thing with fw4.3.

4. nope, checked it again, block online update is not written in the hacks.ini for fw4.1.
Not in E, U or J.

Dont panic . Just dont bother to update to 4.3. I just can't see the point unless there is a major difference.

Why are we all moaning ?
I assume the STM exploit is finally dead at last (because of updates to all IOS) so no point in disasming IOS and creating our own copy of that using TT's writeup.. but new IOS exploits will come. TT obviously has lots more stockpiled IOS exploits. It's the same as with 4.2, we all yelled for a day or two then things got back on track. Shame TBR is finally gone, but we all knew that it was easy to fix anyways. cboot2 would probably still work if you updated boot2 using DOP-Mii first, and then reinstalled your usual BootMii/boot2, and then updated.. But that's just a theory, and it seems I might set up a SNEEK nand to test various stuff.
I'm eager to see how they flushed out bannerbomb this time though, i'm assuming they'd only fix it fully after they get rid of banner bricks (and that will be a partially happy day for sure

Now someone's asking me to move, so I'd better stop this paragraph now..

PS: And also, if you don't have SSB:Brawl, where have you been since it was released ?! It's a great game after all.

I've do some test and if your cios as been max 65535 waninkoko or hermes they don't be delete, so you can reinstall 4.2 system menu with wad manager and reinstall any ios with multi mod manager or dop-ios ... If you really want to update use the new firware updater 4.3b from waninkoko it block online or disk update and the homebrew channel suppression.

All forwarder is not delete when update soo be sure to install one to lauch a dol if you don't update with waninkoko updater. Also install hermes ios 224, it won't be delete by the update.

More precaution is better than less

Probably a nagging worry that if their current Wii gets broken/lost/stolen, it's going to harder to get the replacement working right.

doesn't matter if you have it or not as a PAL user it's useless for hacking your wii ...

About bannerbomb: I believe it shows Error 004 if there is a corrupted banner, so in a way "fixing" banner bricks, but only in the sense it actually reacts to them. It still makes the Wii unusable. (This is a guess based on stuff I've read about Error 004, I don't think anyone has tried installing a WAD with a corrupted banner on 4.3 yet. If anyone has 4.3 and some IOS that accept fake signatures, wanna try it and tell us what happens? If you have BootMii/boot2 of course)

if anyone wants to try it on real nand(i cant no boot2) i have homebrew working on my sneek nand and it loads and works fine. The system menu doesnt erase it if you use showw me wads and change the title id of homebrew from jodi to ?( I used homo for my new title id). I am going to put this on a few more threads. If anyone tries it on real nand let us know if it works

edit: no i just used show me wads to change title id and then extracted that wad file to nand

And you've tried using bannerbomb/hackmii/bootmii?

None of those will work, assuming that he updated fully to 4.3 on SNEEK, and didn't just install IOS80 and the System Menu WAD through a WAD Manager. Also, the method that he describes with the Homebrew Channel will flip it upside down, and possibly give you the "Scam" page every time.
