004 check is for bad params bannerbomb can use.

so, he didn't even get to test hackmii installer. use SmashStack or IndianaPwns to test

Consequences: (Copied from WiiBrew)
* Deletes the Homebrew Channel and DVDX, title IDs HAXX, DVDX, JODI, DISC, and DISK.
* Now uses IOS80.
* IOS254 stubbed BootMii is deleted.
* Fixed Bannerbomb less stupidly this time.
* Added IOS58.
* Overwrite cIOS's 222, 223, 249, and 250 (oddly not 224 yet)
* Removed ability to use Riivolution.
Does it overwrite 250 properly now or just attempt to overwrite like it used to?

And the BootMii reference is only the IOS version, right? If you have it as boot2 on boot2v4, then it should stay there...

Yes, it only removes BootMii as an IOS, assuming that you already have "boot2v4" installed on your Wii console. If you have a boot2 version lower than boot2v4, then BootMii as boot2 would be removed as well.

but nintendo removes the cios on 250, but what i read they dont do anything to 236
They tried to do that in 4.2 as well. The thing is that Waninkoko's 250 gets installed with version number 65535 (as high as it goes). Nintendo's stubbed 250 used to be version 65280 and their update code would not update an IOS if the existing IOS in the slot had a higher version number. Thus, it used to be the case that if you had 250 installed (it is installed with 249 automatically) and you then updated to 4.2, then only 222,223 and 249 would be stubbed. It's unclear whether the new update code in 4.3 is able to properly stub 250 or not.

He already admitted that on the previous page, although it's easy to miss that post.

I never said I was able to test hackmii only tried the bannerbomb all versions none worked just simply putting my findings in so maybe someone else can test another exploit.

yeh i know that, but nintendo did not mention anything about 236 or 224, that may be our access to reinstall the cios
Right. I'm just saying that 250 might be another option. Also, once we get HBC/BootMii back (and we will somehow even if it is only by Smash Stack or Indiana Pwns), cboot2 would work as a method to get the IOSes installed again, even for virgin Wiis. Of course, I'd certainly prefer it if TBR works, as cboot2 is quite a dodgy method.

The Hackmii installer seems to still work, even with all the new IOSes[I updated every IOS except 70, and the stubs in the 2xx range, and did not install menu 4.3], just FYI.

We know it works on 4.2, and installation of other IOSes wouldn't affect that. We need to know if it works when running on 4.3.

QUOTE(samethernet @ Jun 22 2010, 05:29 PM) does anyone know if the save games (made from a game on one of the backuploaders) are deleted after the 4.3 update
There's no difference between save games created by games on backup loaders and save games made from the disc, so no.

Had you installed boot2v4 before installing BootMii? You would have had boot2v4 if you had used a Nintendo update to 4.2 previously.

Nintendo hasn't done anything to delete import games so far, I doubt they would start now. It could happen, I guess.
