Dear all,

It seems good things come for those who wait, Sleirsgovey has just released a brand new 6.72 jailbreak, and for what I have tested is very good.

For the tries I have done, always worked and zero kernel panics until now :).

I truly believe this is going to be the new 5.05 stability crown.

Where can i find the payload.bin, or a guide how to make one? I would like to upload it with ESP8266XploitHost as a custom bin, but I have absolutely no idea how to make a payload.bin. I haven't used my esp8266 since 6.72 and forgot everything.

Well no reason to update my 6.72 to 9.00 ever, unless Nocturne HD doesn't get a backport.

I also have a 7.55 though and it's still shite. But I'm too lazy to update and I just use rest mode.

Don't update 6.72 is now a way better than 9.0

Wrong

5.05 = 6.72 > 9.00 > 7.02 > 7x55

6.72 never fails and is perfect now, probably the same or even better than 5.05
9.00 is stable enough that the odd KP when running the xploit isn’t a big issue really. Besides it only takes around a minute to do anyway.

All the backporting of games for older fw is only gonna come back to bite us all in the ass eventually. It’s not good for game preservation in the long run and in a few years time everyone will be running around trying to source the unmodified games.

I don't agree with you, for people defending is better to stick for fw 9.00 is because some are already regretted updating to fw 9.0, I myself don't like the exploit depending on a USB stick, I rather prefer have it all on software, and when you upgrade to fw 9.0 you're only reducing alternatives paths to jailbreak to only one, since 6.72 has three different routes, even this usb stick is portable to fw 6.72, now 6.72 has Zero kernel panics thanks to the wonderful work of sleirsgoevy.

The lower the firmware the better, even when there are rumors of a permanent jailbreak that could make all this obsolete, regarding CMOS issue, if you load GoldHen the problem is gone.

Last point of backport, people trying to source unmodified games, you can download the original dump or the bacpkport dump, what is stopping anyone from getting hand on the unmodified code?

Wrong

How can you debate on this , if you never had a PS4 on 9.00 🙄🤔 Old rules are not always the “best “.

How can u beat a software exploit, which never fails and takes seconds to complete, doesn't need bin loader to load different payloads nothing, instant webkit, and doesn't need to insert or remove a USB stick.

You should try new “ways “ as Pi ZeroW//2w/4 ..once setup is cached as all hosts.., and many more features available,
First setup about 30-45 seconds, then average 8 seconds 🤣
Auto JB, and many more features 😉, and probably, at the end of the project, a JB at boot 😱

I do respect all users choices, and as @Prb stated, it’s up to everybody choice 😉

Ofc everyone has his own choice for me 6.72 and 5.05 are the best firmwares to have, 9.00 must be stable but nothing beats the other two I mentioned

9.00 is great if you've updated passed 6.72 or you want to play something that hasn't been backported yet or use Saturn emulation. For most users, that's exactly what they want and it's brought way more people into the scene because it's way more accessible. I've had both and 6.72 straight out of the box using browser method was not good comparatively. (Probably a lot better now) I've had no KPs on 6.72 for almost a year now using my method. (ESP8266 using any of the menus I've posted in the userguide and voice activated power off then power on with google home and smart powerboard when you shut down) You can read my tutorial post here and try it yourself if you want to replicate it and you're contemplating updating. I've run stress tests and filmed them in the same post.

It comes down to this. If you don't mind doing a small amount of work and are patient (the USB stick stuff, waiting) every time you run the jailbreak that is a bit slower, with arguably less developed payloads (Linux particularly) and still KPs sometimes, but is ultimately very stable use 9.00. If you want to put in effort when setting it up to not use the USB stick (which is still heaps easier than the people who have their own no USB removal methods on 9.00) for something more stable with less accessibility to games, use 6.72. I see the "if you are on 6.72, why haven't you updated to 9.00" meme all over the place and I think it's just parroting without trying it yourself. I'm not writing this to say 9.00 is bad. It's really good. I'm just saying 6.72 is perfectly viable and better in enough ways to justify not updating. I was up in the air about updating to 9.00 until I used it on the PS4 I use for PSN. The 6.72 was just better.

you just got it wrong the 9.00 exploit was released a month ago but with stability near 5.05, give it another 6 month or a year and it will become new 5.05 gold fw

A link or something? Also, is the cbomb fixed?

6.72 kex is just not stable enough, the nature of the exploit on 6.72 is basically a spray and pray.
9.00 is basically close enough to call it as stable as 5.05, its basically 90% success most of the time, guaranteed 1 click jailbreak if you ask me.

I never experienced that with 6.72 even with "Better exploit cleanup" changes on 6.72 8 days ago by sleirsgoevy, I still get a jailbreak fail attempt and telling me to reboot of course it KP after that attempting to reboot the system part.

Because im a lazy person and I have a rpi0w laying around. I let that rpi0 do all the jailbreaking stuff on my 9.00 pro ps4, the experience of jailbreaking it is like 5.05 albeit the execution time of the jailbreak is 20seonds longer than 5.05. Hey at least I dont have to deal with my Slim PS3 that is still on 6.72 because of broken blu-ray drive.

You're the first person to say it has issues with latest exploit, people who have tried have zero issues
