Hacking new nintendo update

I have just received the chip, they will install it next week. Now looking at the console it asks me to update, is it better not to update until the chip is installed, or is there no problem for installing it in the latest version? Has anyone installed the chip with the new update yesterday?

afaik, it doesn't matter, but I'm no switch expert. I think the modchip is taking advantage of another hardware exploit, so software will never make a difference.
