Hey everyone, I'm new to working on any type of development. I've been trying to replace the character pictures in the menu for ff7 and I was able to convert png into bmp and then hit hiccups when trying to convert to tim. Does anyone have experience in this?

Just tried it on my phone, and indeed was able to convert a bunch of images, what is the error you are getting?
I get a bmp file error. I took some png converted them through an online tool to bmp and tried to convert that to tim, that's when I get the error. After that, I wouldn't really know where to go replace the files. I've opened up the rom using cd mage and found the sectors but not sure after.

If you got the png, you dont need to convert it bmp in order to work, you can directly import it to IMG2Tim to get a file, is there a reason why you need it to be BMP?

Initially I was using the old tim tool, that's where I ran into the issue. I have a 32 bit emulator that opened up img2tim. When I try to open the png in the program it acts like it's opening but the screen is black where the image should be.

Just to get things clear, you are using the latest version 0.75 from IMG2Tim?

What i did was:
Downloaded Winlator
Downloaded IMG2Tim (0.75)
Downloaded a random Image (in this case lets call a.jpg)
Opened Winlator
Opened Command Prompt
Navigated to the directoy where IMG2Tim was
Executed the following command "IMG2TIM PathToImage"
Profit, i obtained a new file called a.tim

When tried to open the jpg file, I told me an extension was needed to install, and it downloaded it and installed automatically for me.

Mine may have not been, due to me not being able to get it off github. It doesn't start the download.

Trying right now

I tried it, but I'm probably messing up the command prompt. There's a version 0.9 of img2tim I downloaded.

I definitely messed up the command prompt
Dont specify an output directory nor an input directoy, (its easier if you first put the input and output on the same directory)

as example: "img2tim a.jpg" (dont use / remove quotes)

also make sure to navigate FIRST to your img2tim folder on command prompt by using the CD command.

I was able to get it converted. Now I'm not too sure on how to implement it into the game. I have the game opened on cdmage and have the sectors open. But not too sure on how to import it.
