Hacking New here and has a Question about Firelinks

Okay so I was searching through this site hoping to find a way to fix my firelink. But the problem is I didn't find a solution. I got my card maybe two or three weeks ago and it was fine before. But when I traveled back I noticed my card doesn't work so I formatted it as we are told to. Now I dont have xmenu or the Ds system. Is there a way I can save my card?

follow these steps

Download this file

N-Card Firmware 1.45 and Xmenu 2.53


After Downloading extract the files to any folder



1. Plug usb writer into your nds and hook it up till an empty usb slot on your pc.

2. HOLD A,B,L,R + Up on your nds to put the card into flash mode.
(Screen will say USB SAFE BLOCK)

3. Windows will pick up a fireline device, card is ready to be formatted.

4. Go to the folder were you extracted the download.

5. Double click NAND_ALL.BAT will will start the firmware flash

6. After a few seconds it will be done, switch of nds and switch back on holding Start & Select to format the card.

7. Windows will auto recognize the card again as a mass storage device.

8. Copy xmenu.dat from extracted folder to the root of your card. RESTART IN MENU MODE !

9. Card will create DSYSTEM folder at bootup. RESTART IN USB MODE !

10. Copy your roms, homebrew to the card...

I have never gotten that method to work in 6 months. Just try copying over the xmenu then boot it. if it gives an error try the other way.

I tried both ways but when i start the thing on Menu mode it just shows a white screen and doesn't move... Is my Card screwed? And when I try to just put xmenu in it, it has a fat error.

ok at the format scrren do a full format instead of a quick format, these cards NEED a full format at least once

Full format needs done at least once after updating from 123O to any of the beta versions (all that have XMENU.dat), reason is the new way data is written to the onboard storage (NAND) one of the reasons we now have dldi Read/write

I formatted it but now it doesn't show the full format choice. There is only Quick Format or Cancel.. did I do something wrong?

no you didnt do anything wrong, means a full format has been done, only needs done once

, with the writer in the gba slot and connected to usb on pc, start the card and enter USB mode, copy over XMENU.dat then restart in MENU MODE to allow it to create system files needed, once that is done restart in USB MODE and copy over your roms etc

If you cant get it to hook up to you computer, run this: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=787 but instead of using the Xmenu in my file, use the xmenu in wilseys file.
