In practice: Not much, except Gateway only supports EmuNAND.

On a low level, the difference is EmuNAND moves sector 0 to the end of the partition, while RedNAND doesn't. RedNAND is easier to manage, since you don't have to offset everything.

So i cant use the gm9 Format Option because it dont make a emunand it makes a rednand

You can. Luma3ds support both emunand & rednand.

You can still load emunand9 via the .3dsx on a 9.2 sysnand... not the best solution, i know. (downgrade: https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer.html )

1 - you downgrade your sysnand to 9.2 to launch the .3dsx of emunand9 (https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer.html )
2 - You use luma3ds.

Arm9 apps don't work from homebrew unless you're on 9.0-9.2.

not true. you just need an arm9 kernel exploit. so safehax. udsploit, then safehax to launch the *9 tool you want

godmode9 can make an emunand for you. you dont need emunand9

The multinand tool created an emunand partition without OS so i injected a sysnand backup in emunand with decrypt9. Now it works
