hi again,

I need new sockets for mic / home button / nfc on the new 3ds.

they look like this https://imgur.com/a/of8Uv

I ordered this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/YX-...21d73b0&transAbTest=ae803_2&priceBeautifyAB=0
I got my ordner but they look different https://imgur.com/a/ywhkxuS and way smaller that I need them.

you guys think I got the wrong one shipped or they are both almost identical and I need completly different one. if so, what kind of socket do I need?

edit: looks I need those: FA1004SA1-R8000
but I can't find any place to order them, besides 1 site for 18+ euro.

I searched on all sites for FA1004SA1-R8000. 3 sites not available. digikey lists 18€ for shipping, thats too much for me.

arrow however gives me those alternatives: https://www.arrow.com/en/products/search?cat=&q=FA1004SA1-R8000&r=true
shipping seems free. will those alternatives work?

Can't say if what you showed works or not. My browser has several ad blockers add-ons giving trouble in viewing that site. Sorry bud.

It's hard to say as SMD/SMT parts come and go. Stuff gets produced in bulk, sold out over time, get discontinued, and hopefully replace with a successor / newer model # item. That last one sometimes doesn't happen.

If you don't have the original connector as reference, the best you can do is make measures your flex cable, mobo pin contacts, and connector area with a digital caliper. Try to find a suitable substitution with as close of dimensions spec. Buy several different part #s to increase the chance receiving a connector that works.

Sometimes, you won't find what you're looking for and may have to resort to ghetto rig connecting your cable to the mobo. Last ditch effort in having hell of a chance salvaging your 3DS.

I ordered some parts for 20 cent. but they don't fit although they are almost identical. the contacts on the new 3ds mic align upwards and the connector I ordered downwards. the original one is up + down. but I can't find one with up. now I'm thinking about to order an old 3ds mic because those mics got downwards contacts.

I took a look at the N3DSXL motherboard picture found on ifixit to determine whether that connector you're looking for exists on aliexpress.

Is this the correct connector at the bottom left corner?

Here's what I think it is:

I can't tell for sure. Here's some other connectors to check out:

the one you linked seems the same like I ordered.

ugly selfdrawn paint pic incoming:

in the middle is the mic cable with contacts show to the top. left is the connector I ordered and you linked, if I put the cable in and close the connector, there are no contacts on top that closing thing. the one on the right is the one I need, so when its closed, it got a connection on top the cable.

I found some connectors with contacts on top, but they are all out of stock ..

they ask for 20€ shipmentt only and it seems out of stock

You got any North American buddies? I think the only way you can get a reasonably affordable total cost is someone on this side of the Atlantic Ocean buys them here and then send you letter mail. It might take a while, and it should pass customs inspection.

Edit - I did a search for similar specified parts.

Here's digi-key listings for FA1004SA1-R8000.
