Could I ask for a little favor? I tried something and have yet to verify if that worked. In order for me to know, I would have to know how "good" units perform it this test.

If you close your lid while the screen is still on, does the image stay that way until it goes to black or do you also notice some corrupted frames during the process of closing it?

Because I tried something and it seems to be fine now, unless I close the lid, then at several points the screen shows that weird behavior again. Now if that's normal, maybe my unit isn't broken after all. But if the image on the upper screen is supposed to stay perfect all the way down, then it's not.

Would be really nice of you guys!

Meanwhile I have taken a more detailed picture with my camera for you all to see what is discussed:

I have this metal on mine too.

Really a non issue IMO unless it affects something technically. you can also push the screen to make it click into place to stop seeing the metal.

However I don't know about the screen/image thing.

Bump. My hinge makes a creaking noise when going to locked position. Anyone else?

Another non-issue?

we should start a thread with audio and visuals to show all the noises and looks of any given gadget and device, so that people could check how a normally functioning unit is supposed to look and sound like.

Sorry I haven't been checking the boards lately.

I've used my N3DS a little more and the only issue is cosmetic for me. I get no issues with weird display issues.
