hey, i'm looking at buying a new 3ds xl jap or aus version for the new gateway exploit. what firmware versions are there new from box. would any be 9.2+?

no japanese or australian 3ds's are above 9.2 yet but there is no proof that USA ones will be above that yet you might want to just wait.

in a way. the designs released later had later firmwares. otherwise I don't think so.

My Australian N3DS XL arrived a week ago and is 9.0, if that helps.

I question really should be, are the difference firmware variations between the New 3DS XL colors in North America.

Example: Red, Black, Majora's Mask and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

We'll just have to wait and see it, all will be revealed in a month.

Gateway currently doesn't support New 3DS/XL consoles yet, regardless of firmware.
