Hardware New 3ds XL Backplate Replacement (UK)

Anyone know if you can replacement New 3ds xl backplates in the UK? I saw them in the US nintendo store but I need a metallic blue one.

To be fair, by the time you pay shipping from outside the UK you are going to be looking at £14 at the least probably, especially for the blue one.

The whole casing for £16.69, personally i would purchase that, keep the battery cover and top cover, then sell the left over housing on eBay as there will be someone out there with a snapped hinge who would just want the top and bottom inside sections. (i/e someone who has had their battery and top covers custom painted or as i saw the other day one that was LOL "flocked")

They are for o3ds xl; i am looking for a new 3ds xl plate.

Have you tried calling nintendo support? I have heard some success stories of getting replacement battery covers that way even on limited editions. Grab me a green animal crossing cover would ya?

i tried calling nintendo uk and they said they wouldent replace any and they wont sell any and i tried buying one of aliexpress and it didnt come with screws so i cant put it on so im basically fucked

I queried Nintendo online support for the same reason a few years ago, and at the time they said they *might* be made available on the EU store... they never were.

Why? He gave useful information that answered suggestions made by others in this thread... unless you mean the screw threads - but that doesn't help if that's the part of the case that broke, and the screws have been lost.

What you got from AliExpress are fake one, you need to take the screws off the original one or order genuine one like this

the security bolt is in the way of the og screws and all the official ones are from america so they either dont ship at all or cost alot in shipping

The back plate's screws are removable. You need to slide the retainer clip off the screws.

@lucas millington, other than taking them from another 3DS/2DS back plates, you can buy replacement 3ds screws at aliexpress and amazon.
You may even be able to retrofit the screws snagged from a pair of broken reading glasses or grab a set visiting a watch repair shop/kiosk.
