Web browser runs faster and some improvement on the resolution or colors for the DS games. I checked both US and EU nintendo websites and both are still on 4.0.0-7, not showing the latest 4.0.0-8.

you have to update to get the Mario Kart 7 Patch

Apparently it does bring the Mario Kart patch.

"Download the newest version of this software from the Nintendo eShop or other support software"

The Mario Kart 7 patch fixes shortcuts in Wuhu Island 1 & 2 and GBA Koopa Castle 1.
