Ok, so here is the scoop, my old Linksys wireless router kicked the bucket, bought a D-Link WBR-2310 which turned out to be a piece of shit cause it couldn't hold a wireless connection worth a damn so I returned it for a Linksys Wireless N router which was cheaper then the alternative G routers from both D-Link and Linksys, so anyway as I am posting this, my little network connection bar on XP keeps making the typical connection thing where the little box is blue and the yellow thing goes left and right, but if I go into my network settings, it says it's validating still despite the fact that I have a connection. I am on a 128 bit WEP secured connection since my laptop and consoles do not support WPA encryption. So why am I getting a connection when my computer says it's still validating and how do I fix it?
