Hacking Netflix without Disc

Is there any difference between the new disc and the new channel? If not then why not just use the forwarder method we have been using?

i don't have a USB drive and I don't have the new disc

Actually you dont need a hdd, as a SD card works just fine. I posted a link to a channel package I made a little while ago on my blog. [LINK]
It allows you to play it from the SD card, and it includes the image of the new disc. Until I see a solid reason to use the channel, it looks like it will just be a waste of space on the wii's already limited memory.

Shop gives error 002 when something is wrong with IOS56. Verify that you have an unaltered (no trucha or other patches) IOS56 v5662 installed.

I don't know what trucha is - I used NUSD and then ModMii to download IOS56 v5662 (i tried it twice, both wad files had the same CRC though).

If there is another method of getting the IOS56 please let me know. Sorry for the dumb questions - i got involved in wii modding back when all you had to do was load a saved Zelda game - all this IOS stuff is slightly over my head. I can follow the instructions but if it doesn't work, I'm stuck. so thanks very much for your help.

hmm now i have a big problem - since i installed the IOS56 and new shopping channel, the disc channel says SYSTEM UPDATE and won't let me load a disc without doing a system update. when i try to use a wad manager i get ERR -2011

boondoklife, I tried your download but since I couldn't install the wad i don't think i can use it. i tried to use the USB loader from the SD card and it just says the WBFS partition can't be found, or something like that.

so I can't use netflix at all now.

You can still use the real disc, or you can reinstall the shop channel v20 and ios56 with dop-mii.... only takes a few minutes. Here's a link to how to use dop-mii:

You can install priiloader and block disc updates to stop the system update messages when you have a disc in.

I just installed the Shop Channel v20 and ios56 with dop-mii. Everything worked perfectly.

ok i used dop-mii for the first time and got rid of the errors, and got the shop working! everything is great

i do have another wii problem - it's unrelated to netflix but i'll ask anyway.

i had been using mplayer but today while trying to fix the netflix thing i came across WiiMC and it's 100 times better. i tried to use the channel installer but it says i have to install IOS58 to use the channel installer.

so i ran the IOS58 Installer app, and it ran (no errors) but still got the same error ("need IOS58") when i tried to install the wiiMC channel.

i tried using dop-mii to install IOS58, and again it seemed to work (no errors) but the wiiMC channel installer still asked for IOS58.

any idea how to get the wiiMC channel installer to work, or why it's not finding IOS58 even though i installed it?

joe, I believe you need hbc running on ios 58 for it to work. Reinstall hbc using the hackmii installer

i looked on google but apparently it involves bootmii and doing pretty major stuff to your system, and what i have now works and i'm afraid i'd break it.

there must be an easier way to get a channel that loads the wiimc app ?

I just updated the shopping channel and ios56 with dop mii and i'm getting error 002. Can someone help?
