On Netflix for Wii U, I noticed some text in the top left corner of the gamepad screen. It has the current time, length of the video, resolution, and audio type. Is this some kind of debug mode?

Nope, i don't think so. It's just some informations of your video.
(on youtube, you can also see the length, the resolution, the current time, etc)

    Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
