With the recommend cMIOS, GC MIOS only plays retail discs, and GC mode internal should play everything.(well if you don't have a crapchip)

I tried it with all my retail discs, but I only get blackscreen when trying to only play with the MIOS.

If i have the recommended cMIOS installed and it doesnt work with MIOS option, how i will play with patched MIOS when i have to choose internal to GC game work?

Set the gamecube mode to internal and set patched MIOS to yes, this works.

Problem was I asked this question twice in this thread and not a single reply until now. no the game does not work fine.. the game stutters.. the audio stutters. But the gamecube launcher runs it perfectly fine.

I did reply, but you did not re-reply! And i think you still did not mention which game you are talking about.

I have tried both Spawn and Rave Master as a test.. both do the same thing with NeoGamma. Stuttering gameplay and sound.

Are you using the latest version of NeoGamma? What's your reloader setting?

WiiPower, what do you think of a database of "recommended settings" for both Wii and GameCube games? This could be built into the loaders so users can find the best-known settings for each title.

Too ambitious of a project?

Reloader settings not really familiar with them settings? Not sure.. it's B38 that I am using in NeoGamma.

hi, ive just followed the soft mod guide to update my old 3.2e wii (wiinja chip) to 4.2e and with the latest cIOS wads.

im running from dvd and most new games ive tried get 001 or 002 using loaders(the latest neogamma/softchip), but using the latest gecko they work fine.
NSMB however does not seem to work, it freezes gecko and with loaders it just resets the wii.

if i use gecko will my wii still be using the wiinja chip, and if im using the loaders will it be still trying to use the wiinja or bypassing it to run via software?

do i need to install other things or do you need to configure gecko/loaders to work for different games as ive just left their options at default.
im new so i might be getting confused but im just taken a guess at certain things im suggesting.

thanks

You chip is always "working", you can't turn it off when playing games from discs. But it doesn't do a thing when loading games from usb...

Anyways, if the latest Gecko OS works for you, i bet you have a cIOS issue. What cIOS are you using? Rev15, 16 or 18?

burrito helped me get uptodate, is rev20 the latest? should this run nsmb on my setup?

im assuming the burned dvd of nsmb is fine (it shows up in the disc channel anyway)

i havent got a usb device to see if it will run that way.

and thanks for the info.

If it doesn't work, read this.

just tried, the ocarina codes with gecko, it applys them then just freezes as before.

tried with neogamma, both the ocarina cheats and the neogamma patches, still resets.

havent tried patching the iso but lower down that post it says the ocarina cheats and the patched iso are the same thing so shouldn't need to?

things to note when i try loading with neogamma, it starts to load, get 2 flashes of a green screen then it reboots (so maybe some kind of video problem)?
the green screen is common with other games but it still usually loads the game.

also it is the scrubbed NTSC-U version that im trying on a pal wii.

You could try to delete the neogamma config (sd:/neogamma/NeoGamma.cfg), enable cheats again and load the game.

oki i have finally got this game to work using ULOADER in dvd mode, with IOS222 it loaded up first time no problems.

couldnt get it to load with gecko, and couldnt get it to load with neogamma_r9(newest) and also tried r8, wouldnt work with softchip either. i tried, the ocarina codes, the wip patches, and also the alternative dol but to no avail. plus various option changes.

maybe this could help others ive read through like the last 30 pages of the NSMB thread and lots of people seem to have similar problems especially with modded consoles, and ive not seen read a single mention of ULOADER, maybe im a one off i dont know, either way at least its working!

Just want to confirm the mini map mode DOES WORK on ntsc back-up, using patched MIOS.

Fantastic work Wiipower.
