Hacking Need to repair a solder pad

So I was trying to install my chiip, and I removed one of the solder pads.

Ho should I go about fixing it?
 
We had exactly the same problem here, but we managed to solder it to the panasonic pin.
Gotta be extremely careful...
 
yup, im afraid that soldering it to the pin is the only option....i had to go through that, wasnt fun .......

Or remove some of the solder resist around the pad and build a new one? If you managed to destroy the pad maybe it's not a good idea for you to try something even more difficult like soldering to the leg of a surface mounted flat pack??

It seems like it's better to add solder to the pads and then work on them? Everyone is burning them off. Or just be very careful and superglue wires onto the pads.

You take away some of the solder resit, like a tiny bit around the mouth of the pad.
Clean up the where the pad is going to go and the glue down a tiny piece of copper (you buy thin sheets of copper to do pad repair).
Then bridge some solder between the exposed part of the track and the new pad.

But how badly have you damaged the pad? If it's just lifted be very careful and attach a wire to the loose bit of pad after gluing the wire somewhere close to the pad so that it doesn't move and rip the broken pad off when you're finished. Even better, get some epoxy reattach the pad to the board.

That makes wiring to the chip sound like a piece of cake, good luck!
 
Actually, I think I got it wired up to the panny chip OK!

I've got a good status light on the chip and legit Wii Sports loaded just fine. I'm burning a backup right now to see how that goes.

We also tried this, but after putting everything back together, turned out the tiny bit had broken...
maybe you'll be luckier, who knows
 
Got the wii all put back together and everything works. The hardest thing about soldering to the panny chip is to not bridge two wires on there with too much solder. I put just enough solder on the wire to coat it, and then I just held it perfectly parallel with the soldering pad. Touch the iron to the wire for about 1 second and it held just fine.
