Hey guys, I hope I picked the right category and I can explain my problem understandable.
Recently I bought a used Switch, it's in a great condition and works fine, but the former owner used an age restriction on it and didn't reset the system.
For some reason he doesn't reply to my messages anymore and I've been looking for a solution for days now and even called the official Nintendo service number, but they couldn't help me because that guy also used the Nintendo age restriction app to secure his system.
Is there any way I could still reset the system, without knowing the pin code? Maybe there is some way to even hack the system or something?

Sorry again if this is the wrong category or if my English was too bad.

If you boot it up to recovery mode, are you able to do a complete format there?

If the Switch is on 3.0.0, use this to reset it

The system settings say it's running on 3.0.1
Damn, you'll have to try Nintendo again. If it was on 3.0.0 or lower the recovery code algorithm was discovered so you can remove parental controls via a website, but not for 3.0.1+.

I know Nintendo said they couldn't do anything the first time you tried, but try again. Sometimes you just get someone who doesn't know all the options.

Try this thanks to Nintendo Support. Please feedback to us if it's working for you and click "LIKE".

This is for everybody here who didnt know about it should move it to the sticky thread after he give us a feedback first.

  1. On your Nintendo Switch console, select the orange Parental Controls icon at the top of the HOME Menu.
  2. When prompted to enter your Parental Controls PIN, press the + Button or - Button (“Forgot PIN”).
  3. Make note of the Inquiry Number on your screen. You will need it to reset your PIN.
    • Do not back out of the screen where you see the Inquiry Number. If you exit and return, the Inquiry Number will change and the previous Inquiry Number can no longer be used
  4. Click here to reset your Parental Controls PIN.
    • If the system is linked to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, resetting the PIN will also remove the link to the app, and delete play time history and restrictions from the app.
    • An e-mail address is required to use this service. If you are not able to provide an e-mail address, please contact us for additional assistance.

Alright, thank you very much guys.
I was already afraid there isn't much hope...
I'm gonna keep messaging the seller (and hope the console wasn't stolen) and I'll probably call Nintendo once more tomorrow.
You've still been a big help :)

Why not use the PIN reset thing. It's only $.30!
