Gaming Need help with Pokemon MD 3DS

Sorry if this is the wrong section. Ok when im in a cave and i face against a evolved pokemon i do no damage. If i trying to hit it while its sleeping i still do no damage and the pokemon never wakes up. Can someone tell me why this is happening thanks.

If the pokemon is asleep and it won't wake up when you try hurting it, it means that it's overpowered.
And if an evolved pokemon isn't taking damage from your hits, it most likely means the same thing, that you're underleveled. This also happens in the demo.
