Waiting for it just ordered. So can I put all my games on there I have alot scratch so was hoping Wii,GameCube, gba, and idk what to use for a ps1 emulator.

Also is better to have the Homebrew apps on the hard drive or apps on the SDcard?

So close....

can I put all my games on there I have alot scratch so was hoping Wii,GameCube, gba, [...] ps1 emulator.
You sure can. Just be sure to put your games in different directories per platform.
Example:
Wii: usb:\wbfs\gamefolder\titleID.iso
GameCube: usb:\games\gamefolder\game.iso (.iso must be named game.iso)
GBA: usb:\mgba\gamename.gba
GB(C): usb:\vbagx\gamename.gba
PS1: usb:\wiisxr\isos
idk what to use for a ps1 emulator.
I told you what to use, and you even acknowledged it.
Also is better to have the Homebrew apps on the hard drive or apps on the SDcard?
I personally have a mixture of both.
I have USB loaders, and emulators that load ROMs from USB, in usb:\apps\appfolder\boot.dol
The rest of my apps are SD, like homebrew games and emus whose ROMs are on SD.
I do that so I don't have to open my app and be disappointed by the fact that I put my ROMs/games on the other storage device which may or may not be plugged in or with me at the time.

hey sticks few questions.

1. where do the bios go sd card or usb hdd?(wiisxr wise)

2. do I have to format my usb hdd?(only has default(NTFS) or exFAT as options)

Thanks again im getting close. is that cleanrip homebrew app?

also curious if im running into problems because im running apps off sd, should I just put apps on usb hdd because I have all my games on it?

Once again, BIOS goes in SD:\wiisxr\bios or the same directory on USB if your emulator app is on it instead of your SD card.
Use this to format your drive to FAT32: https://fat32-format.en.softonic.com/
CleanRip is indeed a homebrew app to be used on Wii, you can download it here: https://code.google.com/archive/p/cleanrip/downloads

You're running into problems most likely because you're not reading instructions and documentation.
I come to this conclusion because I notice you asking me questions I've previously answered here in this thread.
Try to be more observant of what other people spend lots of time typing for the singular purpose of helping answer questions you may have.

I'll still help you. With what apps are you having problems?

Thanks.
My USB hdd:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00T...hard+drive&dpPl=1&dpID=416cy9PhFGL&ref=plSrch

So I got wii games to work with cfg loader.

My gamecube games use to work with nintendont. (I believe format is issue)

My gbc games use to work with visual boy advance. (Im assuming same issue...format)

The wiisx app worked but I put the bios on the SD card and it didn't find them. (Games on USB hdd)

I followed the way you had directories for the games. Never had an issue with that I just believe it's because of the format. So the program you mentioned above I should have no issues or possible mess up my hdd lol. Curious what exFAT is as a format was surprised I couldn't FAT32 format it. Also does allocation size matter?

Thanks for your time I appreciate it and all the people on here who take the time thank you.

PS sticks it was awhile before I got my hdd didn't reread the post and that's y I forgot we talked about ps1 emulator lol my bad

If WiiSXR is on your USB drive, put your BIOS in usb:\wiisxr\bios as mentioned above.
USB loaders won't work with exFAT. FAT32 has worked with everything I've used on Wii to load from USB. Nintendont, USB loaders, WiiSXR--everything.
In my above post is a tool you can use to format your drive into FAT32.
GameCube games go in usb:\games\[foldername]\game.iso to be used with Nintendont. Just load Nintendont from HBC and don't use a USB loader other than Nintendont to launch GameCube games, they're not reliable and some don't pick them up.

All three of the current loaders should display and launch GC games fine if they're named properly.

"games/Game Title [TitleId]/game.iso"
"games/Game Title [TitleId]/disc2.iso"

example: "/games/Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg [GEZE8P]/game.iso"

thanks sticks n stones that FAT32 format fixed everything. got all my emulators to work. (haven't done games for gba tho my gbc worked)

can you explain how cleanrip works. for example I have wii sports and it skips sometimes how would I use cleanrip? I have the homebrew app all set up just haven't tried to rip it until I know exactly what to do.

thanks again sticks n wolf u guys have been awesome and this thread has helped me n hopefully other people too. if it weren't for people like u in this community id be lost thanks again

one more thing does a ps3 or xbox360 both usb wired work with emulators. hdd takes one of the usb spots

PS3 controllers should work with Nintendont at least as long as you're using a regular USB cable and not just a charging one. I think Xbox controllers only work with Devolution.

I have gamecube controller. but I guess more specific would ps3 or xbox360 work on wiisx emulator?

Also curious about a DS emulator as well as 64 emulator too.

Curious how to use cheats for the emulators.

Thanks guys this thread had been helpful and awesome

So I can't get my GameCube controller to work on wiisxr.

Also curious about cheats
Take a look at the Action Replay/Gameshark Cheat CD´s for example. Don´t know about your Gamecube controller. Wiisxr should recognize them.

Yea idk y I'm having trouble with wiisxr. Game works just controller issues.

I've done action replays before for ds. I've also used cheat engine for PC. I know some emulators have built in cheats. Just have to put the cheat line codes in I'm assuming.

Hey sticks stones or grey wolf. I need to update to play cod black ops. Will it brick my Wii if I update. My system chk hasn't changed. I just need to update to play online. Probably should have made a new post but needed help understanding updating a soft modded Wii.

So in black ops Wii. (Which I'm running off USB hdd)

Cfg loader it says I need to update call of duty online. Which was curious if I do a system update would it mess up my Wii? Also I tried to update cod by itself in Wii shop channel but couldn't.

USB loader gx I don't have to update cod. I can play zombies. My only problem is multiplayer it puts me in game loads into game/lobby when loading the map (showing which map u r playing) it loads the go to black screen. And says disconnected from host/lobby and can't play online.

So the other thing when I test my connection it connects (in Wii settings) then says successfully connected. Update system?

If I update which I'm at 4.3U what happens?

I have used flash drives with out a problem for 2 years. Read operations dont wear out a flash drive... its the write operations that wear out the flash memory. what do you think is in the wii? same flash chip as in flash drives. Hard drives are better yes, but maybe that's all he has at the moment. if his older ios work id leave them alone. mine are older and they work fine.
