Have you tried using a program other than GIMP? If you don't have Photoshop, Paint.net is free and handy.

uuuuuhhhhhh......it is creator pony. You can make your own pony. Well I use GIMP for moving picture for gif. Other program don't work. GIMP is only I know of.

It's because you're trying to edit an image with a fixed palette (8-bit PNG or any GIF) using colors that don't exist in that palette. Since gray doesn't exist in the palette for the image, GIMP chooses the closest shade that does (which is the dark purple).
Image -> Mode
It's likely on "indexed", you'll want to change it to "RGB" in order to get the full range of normal colors available.

Aw not fair. I notice other people is doing editing gif picture. What kind program is better than GIMP?

When you to go re-save the image as GIF, it'll just generate a new palette with all the colors you used, so it's not a problem to edit it like that.

Know that the color may be screwed up once you save it as a GIF again though. If you use too many different colors, then it will just average a few out. That's not because of GIMP, but because of the limitations of GIF files.

Oh, and your video really wasn't very explanatory, as you didn't show what you were doing. Like Another World said, we don't see what actions you took when it switched to purple.

you can't leave it up to assumption. you want someone to assume they know what you are clicking? for all i know you are running a bad plug-in or you simply don't know how to use the program. when i make the point that i don't know what you are doing and ask for clarification your only response is an attempt to belittle me.
