Just watch video. I don't want say anything when I get angry right now.
When I read the thread title I thought this was going to be about something completely different.
that video left me really confused. i'm not sure what you are doing, trying to do, or what the problem is.
Look at color I chose. I chose gray. When I put paint can, it purple. Why purple? I didnt pick purple. I pick gray because I made my own OC pony, Piptony. Rename for Nintendo. Here is picture of Piptony
Original character, do not steal!!!
Have you tried using a program other than GIMP? If you don't have Photoshop, Paint.net is free and handy.
uuuuuhhhhhh......it is creator pony. You can make your own pony. Well I use GIMP for moving picture for gif. Other program don't work. GIMP is only I know of.
in the video i don't see you pick anything. i see some text typed, then i see the purple color appear.
...Enough with your shit humor. Get out of my sight.
To quote a fictional character...
Why so serious?
It's because you're trying to edit an image with a fixed palette (8-bit PNG or any GIF) using colors that don't exist in that palette. Since gray doesn't exist in the palette for the image, GIMP chooses the closest shade that does (which is the dark purple).
Image -> Mode
It's likely on "indexed", you'll want to change it to "RGB" in order to get the full range of normal colors available.
do you need for me to take screen captures? you type some junk in note pad, then you switch back to the app, i see the arrow on the measuring bar move, and then the purple color appear.
i'm trying to ascertain what you are attempting to do, and exactly what details go along with that. i assure you that i'm not wasting my time in an effort to mock your my little pony art.
Wow, you are biggest blind color person. Can you see I said "Gray"
Aw not fair. I notice other people is doing editing gif picture. What kind program is better than GIMP?
When you to go re-save the image as GIF, it'll just generate a new palette with all the colors you used, so it's not a problem to edit it like that.
the video doesn't show what you are doing. for all i know you didn't click gray, you only clicked purple. unlike you, i don't assume.
I alredy change to RBG mode as you told me and it is work. Thank you.
I already show you color gray that I dragged after i clicked purple, but not gray. Sorry, your brain is slow than you think.
Staff, lock this up. I already has answer by Rydian.
Know that the color may be screwed up once you save it as a GIF again though. If you use too many different colors, then it will just average a few out. That's not because of GIMP, but because of the limitations of GIF files.
Oh, and your video really wasn't very explanatory, as you didn't show what you were doing. Like Another World said, we don't see what actions you took when it switched to purple.
I already check it and it is fine. U don't have to worry.
you can't leave it up to assumption. you want someone to assume they know what you are clicking? for all i know you are running a bad plug-in or you simply don't know how to use the program. when i make the point that i don't know what you are doing and ask for clarification your only response is an attempt to belittle me.
go back to drawing your little pony avatars, kid.
