Hacking Need help with GCMM (gamecube memorycard manager)

I don't know how to put saved gci files on to a gc memory card

The savegames are read and stored to the following dir: sd:/MCBACKUP/ or usb1 /MCBACKUP , so download a save from the net unzip it place the gci file into the MCBACKUP folder , place your sd card or usb back into your wii launch GCMM 1.4 from homebrew and restore the save to your memory card. that simple

Well when I tried that with my own gci converted from a NMM TO GCI. When I restored it all I see is abunch of y's just show for the discription.

it will convert NMM to GCI or GCI to NMM

His I got a saved game data (.gci) from gamefaqs. I then put the save in the right folder folder. When I go into GCMM and restore it witch it says it's been succsessful. Now when I press delete to see if it worked all I see is a bunch of y's again.I'm not sure if it's not compatible or something but the game is 'Def Jam Fight For NY'
