CAN ANY ONE HELP ME I HAVE DOWNLOAD THE R4DS-1.18 SOFT WARE AND UNPACKED IT TO MY MICRO SD CARD BUT WHEN I PUT IT IN MY DS LITE IT COMES UP WITH COULD NOT FIND-DS-MENU.DAT WHAT AM I DOING WRONG

Well, I don't own an R4. But go download the latest firmware package from the R4 website, and put every single item in the folder onto the root of your MicroSD.

being a bit thick but ware is the root on the sd card sorry if i sound dum

Did you read http://www.r4ds.cn/r4ds.html#a3 - scroll down and typing all caps is like screaming over the net no need for that

the root of the card is just where you are when you open the card so its just F:\ or E:\ or whatever

You have possibly worked it out by now....but you need to copy the contents of the "English" folder onto your microsd, not the "English" folder.
Open up your microsd on your PC and you will then see the following files only:
_system_
moonshl
_DS_MENU.DAT
_DS_MSHL.NDS

sorry its me again thanks for all the help got the files on my card now but when i put it in the ds it comes up with the hardware is not compatible

i have tryed it in a ds and a ds lite

sorry to be a pest but not sure what to do now

plz if any one can help wood be very greatfull
