So im in the process of building a new pc and im unsure which CPU to get I plan to use the computer for lots of things from gaming to coding/editing Im just wondering is it better to go for 3.6ghz 8core or 4.3ghz 4core

Remember that CPUs and motherboards have to go hand in hand. You have to pick them together for compatibility.

Also, you can’t just compare clock speeds and core count. You have to compare model to model, especially because AMD and Intel are not equal.

But generally, as long as the software you’re using are coded for multi-threading, the 8 core would do better. If the software you’re using are coded to run on a single core, the 4.3Ghz would do better. This is of course assuming that they’re from the same MFR and generation.
