Hacking Need help, Mother 3 oxygen/cheats

So this is kind of a specific problem but I'm still hoping someone can help me. I am at the underwater part that leads to tanetane island and for some reason I am unable to get oxygen from any of the mermaids after the first one. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it is a problem with the supercard/rom.

I was able to find a cheat code for infinite oxygen but I can't get it to work. The code is: 0200DEB4 00000708, does this look like a proper code? Could I be using it wrong? I create a cht file with that code in cheat maker and it says it is enabled but nothing happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it would really suck to get stuck 15 hours into this game.

yeah it was weird the screen changed as if they were about to talk but then they stopped. Either way I fixed it, I figured out my issues with saving (I was being dumb, trying to use a vba save instead of the.sav) and I just played through that part on my computer and then transferred the sav back to my ds.
