Hacking need help installing CFW

but when i told to launch emunand9 my 3ds just goes to blank screen and nothing happens, and i have to power it off. so what is the problem?

If you are using the homebrew emunand9, try using the original hbl over the grid hbl.
edit: it also says in the tutorial to use the gateway method if you have issues
