I have Luma3DS v6.6-92ec2af5 with arm9hax on a New 3DS XL system with enable game patching enabled. I used braindump from the Homebrew Launcher to get exefs.bin and romfs.bin, and extracted both using ctrtool through command prompt. I randomized wild encounters, starters, static encounters, and trainer Pokemon. This is my folder setup on my SD card.

    luma\code_sections\0004000000175e00.bin
    SaltySD\SunMoon\a\0\8\3
    SaltySD\SunMoon\a\1\0\4
    SaltySD\SunMoon\a\1\0\5
    SaltySD\SunMoon\a\1\0\6
    SaltySD\SunMoon\a\1\5\5

However, when I start the game nothing is randomized. I'm using a brand new cartridge of Moon version. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

UPDATE: The folder setup above for Luma was incorrect (for my case)! After using the Luma updater once the AuroraWright's LumaCFW was updated to the nightly version of LumaCFW mentioned above. I was unaware of this change... (lol) The folder setup for luma would be luma\titles\<titleid>\code.ips (the patch you want). The folder setup for the rest is fine, although I have changed SaltySD to saltysd... I'm unsure if the caps matter for this folder. If you might be having this issue, boot into Luma configuration and the top screen will have your Luma version. For reference, please check this page for all nightly releases of LumaCFW https://astronautlevel2.github.io/Luma3DS/

If your firmware is not mentioned on this page it is likely you are using an AuroraWright version (stable) and would need to use the code_sections setup instead. Which requires a patched code.bin :)

Thank you to KunoichiZ for your help! <3

You need to patch the code.bin to use SaltySD. You can't just place the files in the right place and expect it to work.

Download my patches here and use LunarIPS to patch your code.bin with SaltySD. Please note, these patches only work with the v1.1 update. If you've downloaded the update, you'll need to extract the code.bin from the update, which you can do by following this (but ignore step 8 since you're not wanting SciresM's patches).

From the sounds of it the code.bin I was using is supposed to be patched already? I tried patching with the .ips file provided with LunarIPS and still no luck... sadly. :(

Did you use the code.bin from the v1.1 update and did you download the update? Which IPS patch did you use? Make sure that you can see file extensions on your computer so that you don't have anything named like 0004000000175e00.bin.bin.

I doubt the name of the file matters, but I named mine with 0004000000175E00.bin. My SaltySD folder is named saltysd.
