Hello,

I need some help to be able to restart my switch without using again jig & dongle : i was a old user on SxOS so i'm still using my SxOS dongle & jig to start the switch, then i use Payload tab in SxOS to launch "Fusee_primary" to start atmosphere or "hekate" to launch my switchroot (android).

I would like to be able to restart on SxOS menu in ATMO or in Android : now, if i'm using the restart in CFW or "RestartToPlayload" HB the switch is just restarting Atmo. On Android, restart function just restart also android.

Is there any way to be able to restart on SxOS menu to able to have the choice like the first boot ?

Thanks
Regards,

You need a modchip along with autoboot and autorcm, if you don't want to use a dongle along with jig.

Alternative there is payload launcher from the homebrew app store that allow you to pick a payload to launch into.

Put the SX OS payload (I can't remember the filename, but the .bin file, not the .dat) in the /atmosphere folder as reboot_payload.bin to use it for standard reboots from Atmosphere.
I haven't run a recent version of Android so I don't know what the options are there.

But you might want to consider using hekate as your boot menu instead of SX. You can use the .dat file from SX Gear to boot with your dongle and start the hekate .bin payload.

Is it possible with a SxOS dongle ? To boot with SX menu, there is only two dat files no bin file : boot.dat and licence.dat

Yes, replace the boot.dat with the SX Gear one (was available from the SX OS homepage front page, should still be if it's up today), then when you use the dongle it will run that, which should load payload.bin (I think) - so rename the latest hekate .bin file to payload.bin

Like you said, i used the SX Gear download zip (boot.dat & boot.ini) : as i'm using 'Payload_Launcher.nro" and to avoid multiple copies of hekate, i just created a folder "Payloads" with hekate.bin inside and i edited the boot.ini to specify the path of my payload.

If i need to update one day hekeate, i just need replace one file inside my folder. (i'm pretty sure i will forgot in several months to update the reboot_playload.bin in atmo folder). If i want to use another payload, i just add it in this folder and it will be available for a reboot from atmo

For switchroot Q version (android 10), i activated developper options to have bootloader reboot option : without this option, you have to press volume - when you choose restart.

Thanks for you help, it's working well now : first boot direct on hekate with a SX Dongle to choose between Atmo/Switchroot, reboot possible on payload from CFW & switchroot. I hope it will help also others users.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
