I am thinking of locally selling some video games, but am not sure what prices I should sell them for. I will list the games below. All I need you guys to do is copy and paste it, then tell me the prices you would pay for each game if it was offered to you. Each game is used and has no box, unless I say otherwise. That said, my games:

Code:
DS:

Action Replay DS-Lite (New, fully loaded w/ disk & book, no box):
Pokemon Black (New, Never Opened (removed plastic only):
Pokemon Platinum (new w/ box, no paperwork):
Pokemon Pearl (New w/ box and paperwork):
Pokemon Heartgold (New, no box):
Pokemon Trozei!:
Pokemon Ranger:
Pokemon Diamond:
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon-Explorers of Time:
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground:
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody-Circle of Spies:
Mario Kart DS:
Hannah Montana (Highly Damaged, plays perfectly fine):
Rubik's World:
G-Force:
Super Mario Cart 64 DS:
The Urbz-Sims in the City:

GBA:

The Hobbit:
Namco Museum:
DBZ-Legacy of Goku II:
Pokemon Ruby:
Tonka-On The Job:

I might be adding onto this list later on, but please feel free to enter the highest price you would pay for these!

P.S: The Pokemon Black was literally bought, unwrapped, then set to the side. I saved it as a collectors thing to sell (and I have a Supercard DSTWO to play all my games on after I download backups of them. Please don't be mean about it. I only download the ones I legally own, and will delete them after I sell those. I do NOT believe in piracy, unless it is for a good cause.)

Protip: Get as much as you CAN when selling ANYthing.

Example of everyday commerce:

Person wanting your stuffs: "Hey there. How much for Pokemon Poop-Brown, Zelda meets Frankenstein, and Hannah's Cherry Bustin' Adventures?"

You: "Make me an offer - the more you BUY, the better the PRICE!"

Easy, eh?

If you're selling locally... it kind of depends. Sort of like how you're much more willing to pay a large amount of money for water in the desert* than at a convenience store, people may be willing to pay much more for games that they can get their hands on immediately without any hassle. Having said that, since you have a lot of games, you could also consider offering small discounts for bulk buyers if you want to move your merchandise quickly. Depending on your personal tastes, you could also offer your games for higher than you think they're worth, in anticipation of any haggling, but it may leave a sour taste in your mouth. Incidentally, I would probably pay no more than 10 USD for most of these games (and less for some), though I'd probably be willing to buy Super Mario 64 DS for up to 20~25 USD if I didn't already own it.

*Or at a baseball game. Those bastards.

lol. I'm in a town where the nearest Walmart is 40 miles away, so the people here are willing to buy the games from me :) Just out of curiosity, which game would probably go for the most, and how much would you estimate that to be?

Common sense says Black and White would be worth the most, but pretty much all of the pokemans retain value.

And yeah, always let the customer make the offer, but memorize the average values. You'll find non-enthusiasts dumb enough to think a game's worth more than it is far more often than those that think less of it, except in the case of legitimately rare older/retro games. Also, don't be afraid to bundle low-class games like hannah montanna or tonka for next to nothing to get rid of them, or just throw them in as a bonus with an actually-worth-something game to ease over the sale. I do it all the time with games I can't move seperately like old FPSes that aren't part of a strong series.

Just so you know, you might want to be careful. Because if you end up selling games as a constant thing and make revenue off of it, you could be fined or taken to court.

I'm pretty sure that you'd have to make insane amounts of profit on games to actually count as an income that can be taxed. Even then it's not a "fine", but rather a cut you're legally obligated to give to the government, and nobody's going to take you to court for buying and selling goods unless those taxes go unpaid.

Also, big assumption here, but by the game list and language I'm going to assume this guy is just a mid-teen selling his old pokemon games to get new ones and isn't going to be buying and selling constantly anytime soon.

Your absolutely correct RecorderDude. I am selling most of my old games to save up to buy a new PC, since the one I am currently using is around 6 years old. I don't have any use for those games anyways, so why not, right?

All the games you've got now are mostly pokemon titles, and while they never lose their value over time, they're not really going to go up massively since they're very common and will continue to be. You'll probably get the most selling those kinds of games now.

However, if you were thinking of selling games you know will become more demanded in the future when they're no longer sold such as Chrono Trigger DS or the club nintendo game and watch titles, I'd say hold on to them a little while more.

 Whaaaat ?!?

Damn, if that WAS the case, I'd be in prison for LIFE! Dont they have 'free enterprise' up there in Canada?
;)

Good stuff....needed the laugh!

To the OP - I have been at this for 30 years or so, give or take, and I can tell you that Poke games typically hold their value, they are pretty much the 'gold exchange' of GBA games, truth told.
Also, try and sell them to a COLLECTOR, not a re-seller, obviously. You have games there that I'd like to pick-over, but alas as another member very rudely/tactlessly pointed out, I dont KNOW you from anyone, and therefor don't feel comfortable doing business with you.
It will probably be a bit tricky, as it sounds like you are WAY rural, but maybe try CraigsList with the aide/advisement of mom/dad/parent/guardian person.

Best of luck - Those Pokes usually sell like hotcakes, and are good for $10-$20 each!
(My wife collects them, especially the candy-coloured GBA carts, or 'Jolly Ranchers'.)
