Just got a nintendo 3ds but do I really need a flashcart? I just found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWsoqxOQ6zM where he states he can play games without a flashcart by transfering files with the sd card.

Just one last clarification; the 3ds can't be hacked to play 3ds games right.

    This is fake.

Currently there are no 3DS flash cards that play 3DS games, however there are flashcards that work on 3DS's that will allow you to play DS BACKUP GAMES AND HOMEBREW ONLY. A recommendation would be either the Acekard 2i or the DSTwo, the former being the cheaper and less features card and the latter being the more expensive but more features card (such as GBA emulation and better SNES emulation) .

As people have stated, this video (like SOOOOO many) is yet another fake.

And you are correct that as of now, there is no way of playing 3DS backups at all.
