Hacking Need a DS lite Serial Number. Hinge broken of my Lite.

My DS lite doesn't have a serial number because my stupid brother rubbed it off. And I don't have the box for the DS lite or anything. My Hinge of the DS lite broke if I send it to nintendo will they repair it for free? I don't have a warranty anymore. And I was thinking since I know you need a serial number can I take my cuzins serial number of his DS lite and take the sticker and put it into my DS lite? But hes color is different than mine as mine is White and hes is the new Blue/Black one.

They can find out what the original color was by the serial number. You have 2(maybe 3) options :
1) Get a White DSL's serial number
or
2) Pay them to repair it, if you pay for it, they don't need a serial number.
or ( I'm not positive if this fixes it)
3) Buy a replacement housing, and swap them ouot, so you dont have to send it off. You can buy DSL casings from here

Hey I'm in the same boat. Love to peel stickers yet hate to void warranties. Anyway I think that your serial might still be on your box if you still have it. As for me, imma take a shot at a replacement housing.

If I order from Deal Extreme the shipping takes so long I don't really want to w8 that long and other sites that have it and you don't have to wait a long time and also good quality with a good price?

I wouldn't do that... Most of them are from Hong Kong and really minor quality... They can give you a really hard time trying to put them around your DS. Most of the time they do not fit perfectly, and that looks really ugly. I'd really suggest buying the shells at DX.

maybe you still have the recipts when you buy it?
Well if the recipts got a serial number send it too ya?
But.. I don't think about free warranty, especially when you broke it
