Hacking NDS Screen Problem

Hello,

My NDS lite top screen has been having an issue lately. When I open it it starts to get all distorted, until it is fully open. The only thing that I have read is that the cable might be getting pinched. So I was wondering if this does sound like that is the case and if anyone knows what the best way to past it thru is.
