Hi guys, I have trawled this entire site and a couple of others however for the life of me I cannot seem t get a straight answer on how to run NDS games on the 3ds with CFW. Is it at all possible or do we need an r4? Also do the R4's work out of the box or with other mods required on new 3ds consoles?

If you want full ds backwards compatibility r4 is the way to go.However there is a homebrew app called twl loader that is being worked on to allow retail ds games to run off the sd card,the list is currently short and the load times are long,but you can run Mario 64 for free on cfw through it.
