    I would like to know do i need to create a NDS folder similar to DS for my DSi?
    what file extension does dsi have?.NDS files ?

    Yeah the DSi runs .nds files, cause if you were using a proper cartridge, its the same for the original DS as it is for the DSi.

    As for the NDS folder, I wouldn't know, it depends on what type of flashcart you're using, but I'd say it probably will need one. But most already have the directories all laid out ready.

    the dsi can't run ROMS.

    you need a flashcart.

    I hope that means Acekard2i

    You use it the same way you use a regular DS cart

    ...I said about the flashcart. I presumed he already had one as he was asking about .nds files.
