I'm translating a ds game, but I can't load the graphics correctly. I'm assuming NCBR is like NCGR, but it doesn't look like it. WHat is it?

I am wondering if you will you open a thread for every filetype you will find in the game between here and RHDN??
Especially because that file you are trying to identify, contains something really important for the translation (ironic smile here)

Okay time to go over tools.
Tinke can sucessfully load the ncbr. Load the pallete first then load the ncbr(click view after clicking on the file). then load the ncer.
ct2 crystaltile2 can do this as well just not the ncer. More handy is editing in ct2 with the tile composition tool (google a guide on this). drag the tiles over and to the right spot then export... now the problem being that both tinke and ct2 seem sometimes to have problems importing images back onto the ncbr (they treat it like a ncgr which it isn't)... so if you do edit it beware your import settings...
The only one I managed to successfully edit (without the ncer) - without problems I did purely in a hex editor.
now if you can view the image in tinke without the ncer count yourslef lucky and just edit it after exporting... there is more but you really should have been able to figure this out yourself with a "search"

If that's not important to the translation, than what files are? There's no NCGR files.
My pic is the file marked in your pic.
If CT2 tell you what file it is in the "sub-files" raw, it means CT2 can handle that file.
How do you say it in english?? Falling from the frying pan into the fire??
You see that beautiful file of 4MB in that game?? That file probably contains everything you need for the translation but without some personalized tools, you will probably have an hard time breaking it up into the subfiles.

You should be playing a bit more with CT2 and check the format of those files rastsan ;)
Anyway, i support you when you say Joysteve should find more information with a "search".

Is it the "BalloonFight_child.srl"? I was told on RHDN that it was either a debug leftover or a download play game ( probably the latter as there is an option for download play). Also, it loads up in Desmume like a regular rom, but all it says is some japanese text.

Well, let's make the story very short, the first NCBR contains what i posted before and the next 2 have this inside:

So what you are looking for is not here; go search somewhere else and not in the NCBR files.

PS: There is no download play, there is a multi hardware link.
I wonder what would possibly be sent to another hardware especially if the game allow other players to play the game when they have not the game :o

Do you know what it says when you load the srl file in Desmume?

The BalloonFight_child.srl is a NITRO ROM image and contains every file that the .nds file contains. Is it possible for the graphics to be in the arm9 or arm7?
