I just came across this thread and now you've got my curiosity going.

The ISO contains 6 .tgc files, which can be converted to .gcm / .iso files

I'm confused about this. "Naruto Collection" is one GameCube disc, right? So why would there be 6 separate ISOs inside one ISO?

I came across some GBA "VC" titles for the Wii that were injected, and they run pretty smoothly. I wonder if that code was based on these, or if they just packaged VBA GX with one game into a channel.

This emulator was made by Nintendo for the GC not Wii, while it is interesting, it was made as a demo so games don't save.

They are not ISOs per se, they can be converted to stanalone ISOs. Developers do this to save on resources.
One ISO runs a demo of a Naruto fighting game the rest are videos and GBA games.
Same treatment for Ocarina of Time and Sonic Gems Collection. Wii games do this too, SSBB, Metroid Trilogy, Kirby's Dream Collection, etc.

So the main disc just has a selection of which GBA game you want to play?

I had been interested in "porting" the VC titles contained inside SSBB for a while, as they actually adjust for aspect ratio unlike the stand-alone versions... but thanks to the newest Wii U update I think that won't be necessary.

I did replace the GBA ROMs on Pokémon Box with ROM dumps of my R/S cart, and IIRC they ran properly. It failed when I replaced them with Emerald though.

Problem is, I can't even boot an unmodified version of R/S Box via Dios Mios and have the GBA playback thing working. Latest version fails upon GBA game start, while older versions that used to work don't reach the title screen anymore.

this works fine with Dios Mios. save game and the "select" button doesn't work. A and B act as A and B in gba and L and R act as in L and R in gba. X,Y and Z in gamecube controller have no function. there is no option to choose filtering and/or full screen.

it does a good job, though with final fantasy V, battle sometimes slows down and there might be sound glitches here and there. no problems with sonic though. as it is software emulation, glitches increase with the intensity of the game i guess.
